Banking since 2003

Finger Rock Preserve, LLC., 255 credit wetland mitigation bank, was permitted in 2003 by the Army Corps of Engineers, EPA and US Fish and Wildlife Service. The 620-acre site is located between Steamboat Springs and Vail, Colorado within the headwaters of the Yampa River watershed including a natural trans-basin diversion waterway to the Colorado River watershed.

The site was selected due the rolling topography, soils, senior water rights portfolio including ownership in nearby reservoirs and natural hydrology of Brinker and Chimney Creeks flowing through the bank acreage.

In 2011, the entire 620 acre site was placed under a conservation easement to be held in perpetuity by The Nature Conservancy.
